Alnwick Castle is a great place to spend the day - for young and old.

As well as an incredibly historic castle and grounds to explore there are usually plenty of activities for children (and adults) from dressing up as a medieval knight or maiden in distress, to learning how to use a sword, making wands, and learning how to ride a broom stick like Harry Potter.

Sometimes they put on shows (see photo) that are very entertaining for all the family.
