Budle Bay is an impressive estuary landscape. The massive area looks out over to Holy Island and the North Sea.
The estuary is teaming with migrating birds and sea life, you can wander for miles - when the tide is low. Be sure to take a bucket and spade and see how many worms you can find! And throw in some binoculars and a bird book to identify them. We even saw a live seal one day and a dead one (hopefully not the same one) at another time.
Don't forget that the tide can come in pretty quickly - so keep an eye on the tide times.
There are some parking places on the left hand side of the road heading north out of Bamburgh when you get to the bay just beside a path down through some farmland, beside a camping ground.
