Just down the road is historic Bamburgh Village with one of the most spectacular cricket grounds in the country and the Grace Darling museum. There are also several fantastic pubs and restaurants, an award-winning butchers, a village shop, tea room, ice cream parlour (such tasty flavours it's scary) and cafe, deli, gallery, gift shop and other facilities.
There are three pubs - The Victoria Hotel, The Lord Crewe Hotel (the Wynding Bar) and The Castle Hotel and the Mizen Head. A recent addition is the Potted Lobster just on the right hand side as you enter the village from Glororum - don't miss it - the seafood is divine!
See Eating and Drinking for our views on these and to see what previous guests think, check out comments in the visitors book.
There is a small playground to the left hand side of the cricket pitch just in front of the castle.
You can also hire the tennis court (we haven't used it yet, but last I heard you just need to go into the Victoria Hotel and book a time).
The Grace Darling Museum lies on the road north out of Bamburgh.
